GTA: IV freezing on 60Gb PS3 models?

Has this happened to you? Let us know in the comments...

There are lots of reports coming in from forums and websites around the world that GTA: IV is freezing on some 60Gb launch models.

Although we're absolutely certain that a patch will be released to fix the problem (that is what has happened every single time something like this has come along, so we'd expect the same again), it does mean that a number of people aren't able to enjoy their new purchase on launch day.

If you've had this problem, let us know in the comments section...

my game froze twice on my 60 Gig PS3 last night. after playing with no problems for hours it froze twice in 10 minutes.

someone on a forum suggested playing whilst logged out of PSN. i tried this and it didn't freeze again in the rest of my session. i've no idea if this was just a coincidence.

I had a 60gb launch console, the first cutscene in the game, the sound stopped, but the movie kept playing, and i couldt skip the movie, i pressed the ps button, resulting in the system freezing, i had to turn it off on the back, wna when i turnned it back on, i had a bricked ps3, it will not read any discs, music, dvd, bluray, games. just after the 1yr warranty has expired, VERY poor sony quality. I caleld up and they arranged to send me a replacement and collect the old one in 1 weeks time. so i have to wait a whole extra week to play the game.
